Rostec creates system to mute mobile connection at sensitive sites

MOSCOW, Feb 27 (PRIME) -- Ruselectronics, a unit of Russian state industrial corporation Rostec, has designed a virtual base station to control access to mobile connection services on the facilities of high security, the unit said on Thursday in a statement.

The system imitates functioning of an ordinary base station, providing in case of necessity availability of mobile connection for a chosen group of subscribers from a white list. Mobile phones outside the list will not be able to make or take calls or transfer data.

The device can block connection of the GSM 900/1800 standard within the radius up to 35 kilometers.
